Platejoy was one of the premiere meal planning companies on the internet. It has many innovative features and was a favorite of newbie meal planners.
However, in 2021, it was acquired by Red Ventures – an umbrella company that owns other content sites like The Points Guy and Healthline and much of the previous site was deleted – leaving just the meal planner.

PlateJoy offers several different types of subscriptions:
- 1 month – $12.99 USD
- 6 – month -$69 USD ($11.50/month)
- 12 month – $99 USD ($8.25/month)
It’s important to note that the pricing of Platejoy is all at once. So the price listed is what you will pay immediately after your free trial.
PlateJoy also does not include the price of the actual food in their monthly fee.

PlateJoy vs. eMeals
PlateJoy has becoming increasing opaque since their acquisition and for that reason alone – we can’t recommend them.
It’s unclear if they’re still being actively developed or supported and their entire site has been diminished down to essentially a survey.
While eMeals still has it’s own faults, we would have to recommend eMeals over Platejoy at the moment due to eMeals active development and clarity driving the project.
